Utilizing a room with a 7 foot ceiling with basically no natural light was the major challenge. The solution again employed taking advantage of the space between the floor joists above, effectively bringing up the ceiling and making the basement much more spacious. The floor was covered in cork and built-in cabinetry ran along the north wall, organizing the computer, television and other AV components. The overall space was divided into usable areas with low cabinetry units, retaining the openness and provided great storage.
