The existing house entered at the lower level, ascending a stair into the unknown. The new work included rerouting the stair, providing a glass block landing as a visible destination from the stair. One is oriented from that point, and directed to the new Family Room and Breakfast Area or more formal Living space beyond. The new work breaks from the original brick rectangle with a dynamic diagonal stroke through the living space.
